Prioritise the reduction of musculoskeletal disorder risks from hazardous manual handling tasks at work.
The Heads of Workplace Safety Authorities (HWSA) released a position paper in 2022 emphasising the ineffectiveness of conventional manual handling training. They pointed out that methods focusing solely on general techniques, warming up, or maintaining ‘correct’ posture fail to tackle the root causes of manual handling risks.
Our approach prioritises the reduction of musculoskeletal disorder risks that could be presented from hazardous manual handling tasks at work.
We offer customised solutions tailored to the specific needs of our clients at any stage in the risk management process.
All services are performed in consultation with workers, based on the evidence that workers who perform the work are not only best placed to help identify risks, but they also have the best understanding of what solutions will be effective in their work environment.
Our approved trainers, who are also allied health professionals, are equipped to deliver the following core training options in person or via Microsoft Teams:
Specifically designed for management-level personnel in a ‘train the trainer’ capacity.
This training focuses on how the risk management approach should be used to address and assess manual handling risks.
At the completion of this course, management will be able to perform risk assessments of their key manual handling tasks and utilise a Safe Work Procedure template.
Crafted for employees at the worker/operational level this training provides participants with the knowledge, skills and ability to understand how manual handling injuries occur and how to apply a risk management approach to reduce the risk of injury for themselves and others.
We also offer customised service options following detailed scoping discussions with customers:
Focused on task analysis, workspace design, and relevant psychosocial factors.
Facilitation of worker engagement surveys to pinpoint hazards.
